Oval, tapering to the base, tip usually rounded, smooth, shiny green
above, paler beneath 2 - 20cm x 1.5 - 8cm, turning red before falling. |

Bark: |
Grey to black, rough, flaky tessellated. |

Flowers: |
Cream, strongly scented, 0.3 - 0.4cm diameter; borne on hairy spikes
5 - 10cm long in the leaf axils. |

Flowering Period: |
September to December. |

Fruit: |
Egg shaped, blue to purplish, 1.3 - 1.8cm long; a single woody shelled
seed. |

Cultivation/Notes: |
Propagate from fresh seed. Suitable for most well drained soils,
this is an ideal large shade tree for parks and larger gardens. Needs
abundant water. |
