A medium tree, 6 - 10m high, with a dense crown; deciduous. |

Northern Qld. and Top End of NT.; in coastal vine thickets and along
water courses. |

Leaves: |
Oval, tip pointed, smooth, leathery, shiny dark green above, paler
beneath, margins wavy, veins whitish, 8.5 - 20cm x 3.5 - 8.5cm. |

Bark: |
Slightly rough, grey, may be finely fissured. |

Flowers: |
Green-cream, about 0.5 - 0.7cm diameter, separate male and female;
borne in clusters of 3 - 4 in the leaf axils. |

Flowering Period: |
November to January. |

Fruit: |
Red-brown, globular, fleshy, 0.8 - 1cm diameter, a single thin-walled
seed. |

Cultivation/Notes: |
Propagate from seed. Not known in cultivation but widely used by
Aborigines for medicinal purposes. |
