Learn more about Townsville's unique natural environment at several of the events, take a tour through Rowes Bay intertidal zone or enjoy the atmosphere and lifestyle of Townsville at Eco Fiesta.

Day 2 - Saturday, 5th of June

Exploring the Intertidal Zone at Rowes Bay (Kissing Point End)

Studying the intertidal zoneTime: 3:15pm for a 3:30pm start.
Meet at The Esplanade, Rowes Bay

The tour will be led by Dr Gilliane Brodie, PhD - of the School of Marine Biology & Aquaculture, James Cook University.
Sturdy shoes, hat, and water are required. Gloves are recommended.
The tour is expected to last between 1.5 - 2 hours.

Day 3 - Sunday, 6th of June

EcoFiesta - Waste Fairies: Fun waste educationEcoFiesta 2004, Queens Gardens

Time: 12 midday - 5pm
Come along and celebrate Townsville's Environment.
Heaps of activities and over 40 displays.
Presentation of the Environmental Excellence & Sustainability Awards - for Sustainability in Business Award, Community Group Award, Primary School Award and High School Award (The individual Award is presented at a separate Evening Function).

WALOR (What a Load of Rubbish) program

WALOR in action with a local school and the presentation of Clean Up Australia Day Certificates to several of the 13 schools that took part in the program in March this year.

Reef HQCelebrating World Oceans Day
Louisa Creekwatch
Catchment Tour and BBQ

In celebration of work of Louisa Creek Watch Volunteers and Citiworks in partnership with EMS, CVA and Reef HQ.

Tree planting with Townsville City Council and Louisa Creekwatch Volunteers. Then take part in a Catchment Tour, Reef HQ visit and Celebratory BBQ at Citiworks.

Deputy Mayor Cr. Ann Bunnel  presents individual intiative awards. This is an annual celebration for the recognition of Environmental Volunteers within the Townsville Region and includes the Presentation of the Individual Initiative Award
