Has been active since early 2004, working towards building the
capacity of councils throughout the region in relation to Natural
Resource Management. Previously the network was involved in providing
assistance and information to councils during the planning process.
More recently work has been undertaken to try and improve communication
processes and protocols in relation to NRM.
The initiative has been supported through various avenues throughout
this time, with major contributors being the Health & Environmental
Services Regional Organization of Councils (HESROC NQ), and
the Burdekin Dry Tropics Board. Many of these products were
produced through a State Investment Project under the National
Action Plan for Salinity and Water Quality.
