Introducing Wild Plant Hot Spots
to top |Using these lists anyone can learn more about our diverse plant species. A good plant book that describes and illustrates all the species you want to learn is essential. Or take along a knowledgeable friend.
Just visit one of the listed "Plant Hot Spots". See how many different species you can identify, but probably aim to learn only about 5 plants well in one month. Please expect to sort out only a few of the 20-40 species listed for each spot.
Of course those species not in books are listed too, but they are a bit more difficult.
The number of species/subspecies at each location varies from 100 to 165. It is quite feasible for keen individuals to gradually get to know one area completely, despite the very large number of local species to be found in the whole region
Plant lists do not pretend to be complete.
